“You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of. You don’t have charge of the constellations, but you do have charge of whether you read, develop new skills, and take new classes.”
Jim Rohn
In Order To Reshape Your Body You Need To Take Personal Responsibility
The above quote is 100% applicable if you want to or need to reshape your body. Unless you take personal responsibility to do it, it ain’t gonna happen.
As you know, we control what we eat and drink. We control if and how we exercise. As you also know, we are subject to the influence of others. But, that does not remove the responsibility. Ultimately, we decide for ourselves.
The fast food industry can create very compelling ad campaigns for their products; it does not mean we have to buy into them. Temptation might be calling; but we don’t have to give in. We can, must and should resist.
When it comes to your diet and exercise regime, not only do you need to take personal responsibility, but you have to stand guard at the gates of your mind.
If you lost your self-control in a moment of weakness, and we all face those temptations and we all from time to time give in to them to some degree or another, the important thing is to forgive yourself and take your control back and get back on track.
If I can sum up these 40 days; it’s a learning process filled with corrections. Without my daily Tanita measurements I would be lost. The up and down “rhythm of life” (as I like to call them) variations in my daily results is to be expected, but if the results tend to go in the wrong direction for 2 or 3 consecutive days, it’s a clear sign that you are doing something wrong. Time to analyse and then to make the necessary corrections.
Here are my Tanita results of this morning as at 6.37am:
- Weight 96.6 kg (down 700g from yesterday; over all down 5.9kg)
- Body fat percentage 26.5% (down 0.3% from yesterday; over all down 7.3%)
- Body fat mass 25.6 kg (down by 600g from yesterday; over all down by 9.7kg)
- Visceral fat 13 (same as yesterday; overall 3 down)
- Body water percentage 50.6% (up 0.2% from yesterday; over all up by 2.2%)
- Muscle mass 67.4kg (down by 300g from yesterday; over all up by 1.9kg)
- Metabolic age 58 (down 1 year from yesterday; overall down 10 yrs)
You’ll be glad to know that I woke up early this morning in order to get my 20 minute treadmill session in before I had to go to my conference. Hopefully I have the same discipline tomorrow.
As always, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate you.
