The secret of becoming a genius does not lie in your heritage, nor is it determined by your IQ.

The secret of becoming a genius is within reach of everybody. The secret lies in the definition of the word “GENIUS”.

Day 19: The Secret of Becoming a Genius

The best definition of the word genius that I have come across to date is this:

“Genius is the ability to concentrate on the task at hand.”

Becoming a genius lies in the skill of concentration

Whatever you are doing right now…give it your full attention. When you are on the way to work, concentrate on the way and not the work.

What you concentrate on, what you give your full 100% attention, expands and grows. Why? Because you gave it your all; you gave it your undivided attention and devotion. Your mind can create miracles – if you can get it to focus on the task at hand for long enough.

The skill of concentration on the task at hand depends on how well you are able to forget, for the moment, all the other important things that want to occupy your mind at that moment. They might be very important, but at that particular moment, they are distractions.

If those thoughts keep interrupting you, take out a notepad or your diary, and diarise time for your mind to focus 100% on it. That way you tell your subconscious mind not to worry about it any longer; you will get to those other important things at the scheduled time.

If you are giving me, and this blog post your fullest attention right now, you probably would have pulled your journal over by now, and started to jot down a few notes. 🙂
