Herbalife Pyramid Scheme!
The Herbalife Pyramid Scheme. This scam has recently been brought to the world’s attention by Mr Bill Ackman, who is truly trying to make an impact on this nutritional company, called Herbalife. The value of Herbalife stocks fell dramatically after this revelation was made. Some people, do not want to lose money and panick. They have to adhere to the stock market guru’s advice. Other people, investing in the stock market, KNOW how much money can be MADE when others panick and make a run for it…..There are always two sides of a coin and the coin never stops spinning…..
So what exactly is a pyramid scheme? What would a Herbalife pyramid scheme look like? A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves promising participants payment or services, primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, rather than supplying any real investment or sale of products or services to the public. (1,2,3) In other words the real profit is earned, not by the sale of the product, but by the sale of new distributorships.
Now let’s put Herbalife through the pyramid grinder and break this company down into digestible chunks
- Non-sustainable business model – Herbalife has been sustaining itself for more than 30 years, starting from the trunk of a car and is slowly growing across the globe, legitimately. This certainly is a problem, as it has to prove itself to be ‘non-sustainable’.
- Promising participants payment or services for enrolling other people into the scheme – An Independent Herbalife Distributor, receives NO COMPENSATION for enrolling other people into the scheme
- Rather than supplying real investment or sale of products or services to the public – Herbalife prides itself with a range of inner and outer nutritional products, that are used by their distributors and their customers.
Is it just to brand it as a Herbalife Pyramid Scheme?
If Herbalife is a pyramid scheme, then this Herbalife pyramid scheme is completely flawed. Where, in a pyramid scheme, have you heard of someone ‘below you’ that can earn more money than you. If you are not comfortable with the ‘Herbalife pyramid scheme’ where your downline can earn more than you, then I would suggest that you give Herbalife a miss. This is just how Herbalife’s compensation plan works. In Herbalife this happens all the time. It’s actually happening right now, while you are reading this.
Herbalife encourages teams to work together. The most successful people in Herbalife, arrive at the top WITH their team. How? By helping their team to get to the maximum discount level of 50%, which they are on. You are asking the question: Why would I encourage and support my distributor to be on the same discount level as me? My question is: Why not? True leaders empower their teams. In a pyramid scheme that makes NO sense. In Herbalife, it makes PERFECT sense.
So, are there people who have a problem with Herbalife? Saying: “Herbalife Pyramid Scheme, they are going to take you to the cleaners!” Of course there are. That’s fine. People can voice a different opinion to us. We respect that. People might even criticise us for using Herbalife. No problem. Some people will say Herbalife is not for them and justify it. That’s ok. You have to decide what YOU want to do and stick to it. Herbalife pyramid scheme or not…it is not about Herbalife. It is about you.

I decided to use Herbalife, because it fits in with my lifestyle. There are other nutritional and weight management companies, who are doing so much good to help people. Their customers and clients like what they do, because it suits them.
BUT just because I have decided to go down the Herbalife route, does not give me the right to
- manipulate other people into using our products
- target and criticise another company, simply because I can
- question a company’s credibility, because I don’t know any better
- abuse my position to influence people to get financial gain
Unfortunately the world will always have people, like Mr Bill Ackman, who fuel their own success by creating negativity. It’s not our job to change them. The best thing you can do, is to believe in your products and service, no matter what your industry, especially if you are doing good. I believe in the Herbalife products and many others do, because many of us have experienced it’s worth.
