Everybody knows that to be successful in network marketing you have to be consistent.

Consistently consistenJohn drives this point home in this chapter on secret #2 of the 17 Secrets of the Master Prospectors, stating that master prospectors are consistently consistent. The problem we face today, is that this has become a cliche in the network marketing industry and very few people know how to become consistently consistent.

The refreshing approach taken by John Kalench in this chapter took me by surprise. Not only did he state what this so-called secret is, but he explained how to operate at a consistently consistent level, consistently!

Knowing what to do is only one part of the 3-part series to success. Know how to do it is the second part and wanting to do it, is the third part.

The fact that you are reading this article, tells me that you have the third component. You want to be able to be consistently consistent. It is trite that those who seek answers, shall find them. Those who knock on doors, will find that some do open and those who ask, do receive. Let’s open the door for you…let’s answer you…let’s give you what you are looking for!


 

What it takes to be consistently consistent

To be consistently consistent is a skill and if you do not know how to acquire this skill, you can go for years and years in this industry and still not be consistently consistent.

If however you know how to cultivate a consistent consistency, you will become rock solid in this business.

Most people who do not learn this skill early on in their mlm career, run a big risk of quitting prematurely. Here is why:

This industry is filled with emotion. It’s fraught with emotional highs and emotional lows. Frankly, it’s an emotional roller coaster ride! You have a new prospect (Harry Hot-To-Trot) who comes to a presentation. He is so excited by what he sees, he signs up there and then. He can’t wait to get home and start sponsoring all his friends and family. He is on fire. On an emotional scale of 1 – 10, his enthusiasm is on an 11. He could not wait to talk to his first prospect.

Surprise surprise, his best prospect did not sign up! As a matter of fact, he told Harry in no uncertain terms that he is wasting his time and money and should put this silliness out of his head immediately. Tail between the legs Harry turns away. “Thanks Dad.” Now his enthusiasm dropped to a 6. However, he remembers that his sponsor told him about negative people, so he picks himself up and get his enthusiasm up to a level 9 again. He is ready for his next prospect.

Although his mom and dad never agreed on anything before, now all of a sudden they see eye to eye. She told Harry to get a real job like his brother, who so by the way, is next on Harry’s list. After speaking to his mom, Harry’s enthusiasm dropped to about a level 4, but then he remembered what he heard in the meeting: SW, SW, SW, Next! (Some will, some won’t, so what. Whose next?) So Harry picked himself up and boosted his emotions up to an enthusiasm level 8 and set off to his brother. When he got there, his brother just got off the phone with his mom and dad and his brother had the job advertisements out, waiting to bring Harry back down to earth. “Come on Harry, let’s find you a real job!”

Harry’s enthusiasm is understandably right down to a 4. Perhaps this was not such a good idea after all. Who am I to think that I can earn royalties or become rich. Perhaps my mom and dad is right. Harry is still hot-to-trot, but just because that’s part of his name. For the rest, he is pretty deflated. He calls his sponsor with the bad news, and his sponsor tried his best to persuade Harry to come to the meeting the next night. Harry says he’ll try to get there.

Chances are, Harry is not going to make that meeting….


 

To be consistently consistent you have to eliminate this emotional roller coaster

Master prospectors learn to quickly get off this roller coaster. There is only one way to do so: you have to understand another universal law. It is this: ENTHUSIASM = PERSONAL BELIEF.

Your enthusiasm level will always drop down to your belief level, no matter what. The only way to get rid of the inconsistency in your enthusiasm levels, is to raise your belief levels as quickly as possible.

It’s easy to get all excited and pumped up by some peak experience or moment of motivation, but if a person doesn’t really and truly believe in those possibilities, he or she will crash. It’s inevitable. You can’t sustain an enthusiasm of eight with a belief level of three or four. It’s just not possible.

Master prospectors consistently work on their belief levels. They read, they learn. They attend seminars. They study network marketing. They use the products. They do whatever it takes to get to sustain a belief level of 8-9. That way the fluctuation between their enthusiasm and belief will ever only be very small. A mere ripple. That is how they are able to be consistently consistent.


Master prospectors constantly work on their belief levels in the following areas:

 

  1. Themselves
  2. Others
  3. Their company
  4. Their products
  5. The Network Marketing Industry

When it comes to belief in yourself:

Do not let anybody steal your dreams. Strengthen your relationship with yourself daily. This is the most important thing you can do. Realise your potential. See yourself for who you are…a diamond in the rough. Know that you deserve to succeed. Love yourself more and more each day. Build a solid foundation of self-esteem and a sense of self-worth. Know that you are worthy of success.

When it comes to belief in others:

See other people better than they see themselves. In order to do that, you cannot think like they think. If your success in network marketing is dependent on how well you serve others (not coffee and tea), but by helping them to become more than they are, you have to constantly think ahead. You cannot allow yourself to talk like they talk. If they spin an excuse for why they are not in motion, you must be able to see it for what it is, and not buy into their stories. If you want to lead them out of their misery, you cannot afford to wallow in it with them.

When it comes to belief in your company:

Connect with the people of the company. Look behind the brochures and videos. Go to the live meetings and meet the leaders of the company in person. A face-to-face connection, backed up with a photograph of you with them to remind you and others that these people are real, just like you, is worth gold! When you know the true facts of the company, not because you read it in a brochure, but because you experienced it yourself, nobody will be able to bad mouth your company or spread lies…and if they do, you will not only be able to set them straight, but you will do so with conviction, because your enthusiasm level is backed by your belief.

When it comes to belief in your products:

Be your own best customer. Use all the products. Use it as recommended. Use it the way you want your customers to use it. Once you experience your own product results, nobody will be able to tell you that your company’s products do not work. You will simply smile and know the real truth: they either cheated (did not use the products as recommended) or they are lying about it. Either way, it won’t phase you, because your belief level in your products is rock solid.

Back this up by gathering product testimonials of others you meet at your company’s live meetings.

When you talk about your products with a belief level of 8 or 9, it will shine through your eyes and radiate through your voice. Your confidence in the products will instill their confidence in the products. They will begin to believe in the products purely just because of your belief.

When it comes to belief in the network marketing industry:

You have to study and appreciate it. Your company is just a vehicle. The network marketing industry is the infrastructure, the roads, that make it possible for you to drive your vehicle from point A to B. The network marketing industry has revolutionised the distribution business. The ability to distribute a company’s products in such a way that all the middle-men are cut out saves millions. This money get’s pumped back into research and development to make the products even better and the rest of the money so saved, get’s paid to the distributors through the company’s marketing plan (pay plan or compensation plan). It’s truly the people’s franchise. It’s the average person’s only opportunity to earn substantial passive income. Learn to love it. Learn to appreciate it. Never take it for granted. If you truly understand the network marketing industry, you will be able to give a “knowing smile” when someone tries to tell you that it is a pyramid scheme or some illegal sham.

Master prospectors become consistently consistent by constantly working on their belief in themselves, others, their company, their products and the network marketing industry.
