A healthy fruit breakfast is a good way to start the day

Healthy Fruit Breakfast.  What does that make you think of?

Hawaii?  Tropical Islands?  Dancing girls?  Breakfast on the beach (hopefully the wind is not blowing 🙂 ). Or even just healthy fruit breakfast on your lawn at home.

I see your table, covered in a red and white tablecloth, tall glasses with fruit juice, some more in a jug in the middle of the table, chairs around the table, the grass was cut yesterday and you can still smell the freshness of it.  Plates and cutlery beautifully arranged.  At the one side your favourite flowers.  Not too big.  Just in the back ground.  Breakfast is clearly important to you too. Then I notice some fruit on the side of the table.  Bananas. A healthy fruit breakfast with bananas….

A whole bunch of them.  Reminds me of the banana tree in the garden at my home.  What is special about bananas?  Time for another adventure down the information journey.  Coming?  Ok, I will wait. We cannot go without our cellphone, can we?

There is this banana tree in front of my window which reminds me of the tree in front of the home, where we cut a branch down last week with this big bunch of bananas on it.

My bananas!

The bunch is now hanging in our garage, waiting to get ripe for a healthy fruit breakfast!   Strange, I thought, but apparently it is the way to do it.  You cut down the branch and then in pieces and put the pieces all around the banana bush where it decomposes and feeds the banana bush.  Creation is awesome.

Bananas – Why would we want to add them to our healthy fruit breakfast?

I understand that the best – the ultimate time to eat bananas is just before they are over ripe. They should have some black spots on them.  If you eat them before then, the starches are not digestible     The way we eat them, when they are yellow and hard is actually not the right time.  They are not ready yet.   For mommies with babies, overripe bananas are soooo healthy.
