Don’t celebrate with food!

Okay, so if you follow my blog posts every day, you would have noticed that I skipped yesterday, day 53. There are two reasons for that:

  1. I Had an early round of golf, which meant I could not follow my usual morning routine. I did however jump onto the Tanita Body Scanner before I left. That brings me to number 2:
  2. Tanita was not happy to be woken up that early!!!

So yeah, I was a bit depressed over the Tanita results to blog about them yesterday, and thought maybe today she will be kinder or perhaps have forgiven me, and then I can add yesterday’s results to today’s blog.

That brings me to Day 52. You would notice from my previous blog post (day 52) that I had some of my best results to date. So what did I do? I celebrated with beer and a big dinner.

Lamb chops, fried potatoes, honey mustard carrots, rice topped with a mixed salad. Washed down with a beer.

Couple that with the fact that I skipped my exercise session that night and the following morning, and viola; Tanita screams blue murder! Something like, “why on earth would you sabotage yourself like that!!!” So what can a man do that sinned? You repent, you ask forgiveness and you put your best foot forward, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Just kidding, I’ve been eating like this all the time. It’s just that it was super hot. My hydration levels were super low yesterday morning, and yeah, I didn’t burn the 400 odd calories with my exercise that I usually do.

So firstly, here are yesterday’s Tanita results as at 6.19am:

  • Weight 95.7 kg (up 200g from day 52; over all down 6.8kg)
  • Body fat percentage 27.8% (up 2.3% from day 52; over all down 6%)
  • Body fat mass 26.6 kg (up by 2.3kg from day 52; over all down by 8.7kg)
  • Visceral fat 14 (1 up from day 52; overall 2 down)
  • Body water percentage 49.8% 1.3 % down from day 52; over all up by 1%)
  • Muscle mass 65.7kg (down 2kg from day 52; over all up by 200g)
  • Metabolic age 63 (up 9 yrs from day 52; overall down 5 yrs)

These results remind me of something I said earlier: it takes a long time to build something great; but you can destroy it in one moment of madness.

So last night, I commiserated with this seafood salad dinner, topped with crumbed oysters:

Okay okay, I know. Perhaps not the lowest calorie meal if you want to pay for your erstwhile sins, but hey, it was delicious! ๐Ÿ˜€

I did get back on the exercise train last night and this morning, and I must say, looks like I’m learning the skill to get back on the bike. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are this morningโ€™s Tanita Body Scanner results as at 7.39am:

  • Weight 95.2 kg (down 500g from yesterday; over all down 7.3kg)
  • Body fat percentage 26.4% (down 1.4% from yesterday; over all down 7.4%)
  • Body fat mass 25.2 kg (down by 1.4kg from yesterday; over all down by 10.1kg)
  • Visceral fat 13 (down 1 from yesterday; overall 3 down)
  • Body water percentage 50.6% (0.8% up from yesterday; over all up by 1.8%)
  • Muscle mass 66.6kg (up 900g from yesterday; over all up by 1.1kg)
  • Metabolic age 58 (down 5yrs from yesterday; overall down 10 yrs)

So, I’m back on the bike but it’s not good to have a crash when you are so close to the finish. Six days to go and some serious healing to do.
