Happy Australia Day everyone! Today is 26 January 2023 – Australia Day – which is a public holiday. I am very grateful to this amazing country and it’s people who accepted me and my family as fellow Aussies in 2012. So blessed!
So, true to form, I played golf this morning! Was a great day out, but the golf was not too great. Only 1 birdie for the day and the rest of the golf was so-so. Don’t worry, I’ll try again tomorrow. 🙂
My tee off time was 7.00 am which meant that I had to wake up at 5 am. Usually I do not wake up with an alarm clock, and I would usually naturally wake around 6 am. So for this morning, I had to set the alarm. Happy to report that I woke up before the alarm and felt great. Unlike yesterday…
Yes, yesterday I had a slight headache twice. I just kept drinking water. Also, I experienced some toxins coming out through my tongue, which I had to scrape off. Other than that, yesterday went well.
I did a very light upper body and shoulder workout session, following along with the H24 exercise DVD series. I followed that up with a cool down session in the pool – again 50 laps in our little 10m pool; so refreshing.
I kept my protein intake at the required level with my Herbalife shakes during the day, same as before and made sure that my post work out shake had the extra 10g protein from the skim milk. During the day I also drank my plus minus 18 glasses of fluids (mostly water), had a few thermo teas with mandarin aloe and of course, my family meal for dinner. I made us a homemade Cesar salad.
As you can see, I got most of my remaining proteins in via boiled eggs, which by the way also have a protein score of 1, meaning all the proteins are used by my body.
Day 3 Tanita Body Scanner results
Now keep in mind that my previous results were recorded at a more decent time of around 7 am. But, because of the golf, I had to do it earlier today. So these results were recorded at 5.20 am; meaning that my body haven’t had a proper chance to do what it’s so supposed to do in the morning, if you catch my drift. 🙂
Let’s take a look:
- Weight 101.7 kg (up 100g; over all down 800g)
- Body fat percentage 30.7% (down 0.4%; over all down 1.9%)
- Body fat mass 31.3 kg (down 300g; over all down 2.1kg)
- Visceral fat 15! (down 1 – finally got this sucker to move! It’s still dangerously high though)
- Body water percentage 48.4% (up by 0.2%; total up 0.9%)
- Muscle mass 67 kg (up 500g; over all up 1.4kg)
- Metabolic age 68 (still)
At first glance I gained weight from the day before – 100g. Not good, right?! It could literally be because I haven’t had a proper chance to do my thing on the loo. Who knows? If I only had a normal bathroom scale I might have been disappointed, especially after not feeling too great as my body was clearly detoxifying the day before. I am so grateful for the Tanita body scanner that measures all the other vital information. It puts everything in perspective.
The positive take away is this: I lost another 300g of fat and I built another 500g (1/2 kg!) of muscle tissue. How awesome is that! Remember; muscles burn fat; I need more lean muscle mass for prolonged fat burning, and as you can see there is a lot of “burning” that needs to take place!
And did you notice? I got the visceral fat (fat around my organs) to come down! So happy. This must come all the way down to low single digits. The metabolic age; well, I don’t feel 68 (I am 53!), but I understand with all that visceral fat my body on the inside still needs some serious reshaping!
It is a journey. Right now my focus is to build the good nutrition habits that I need not only to lose the fat, but to also help me to keep it off. My total weight loss goal over the 60 day period is 17.5kg and I only just got started. I’m excited that I already lost 2.1kg fat and gained 1.4kg of muscle in my first three days. It tells me that the healthy habits I am forming, is working. I just need to practice them in so that it can become second nature.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.

By the way, if you know anybody that needs to do what I’m busy doing, and who is ready to reshape their bodies, let me know please or encourage them to hook up with me. I’ll be happy to help them out.
Be blessed.
