Why people buy from you

People buy from you not because of what you sell or how you sell it, but why you sell it.

Now if you sell because you want to make money, how many people would want to buy from you? That’s right. No one! If on the other hand you sell because you have a unique gift or experience with which others can identify, and from which they can benefit, they will be drawn to you like a magnet. Not only will they buy from you, but they will keep on buying from you.

Your customers connect to your why. Why is this? It’s because your why connects with their why. They believe what you believe. That’s why.

Let’s face it, there are thousands of others who sell what you sell. There might even be hundreds others who sell how you sell, but there is only one person who sell why you sell, and that is you.

We are all familiar with the concept of “being one self”. Do you want to make a difference? Be yourself, they say. Do you want to succeed? Be yourself, they say. Do you want to revolutionise the future? Be yourself, they say. Why is that? Because only you know why you do what you do.

If you want to sell more, you have to first find out what makes you tick. What is it that drives you? What is it that makes you get up out of bed in the morning? Why do you want to sell your business opportunity to other people? Why do you want to sell your products to other people? What do you have that your competitors don’t? And no, money cannot be your why.

If you don’t know why, then your customers will have no reason to buy from you. You must give your customers a reason to connect with you. Ask yourself, why would they buy from me instead of my competitor? What do I have to offer that my competitor can’t? You have to separate yourself from the rest. What sets you apart?

If you want to become more successful you have to start from the inside out. First ask yourself why am I doing this? Identify with the core reason why you do what you do. The stronger your why, the stronger the magnetic pull will be that will draw people to you.

That’s why you must focus on your why and not on your how or your what.
